Kim Winston Gridley

Kim Winston Gridley a loving father, husband, and inspiring man with a wonderful sense of humor passed away on May 14, 2023.
Born on September 20, 1966, in Corning, New York, Kim was a loyal and courageous individual who dedicated his life to his family, friends, and community. As an avid fisherman, hunter, and bird watcher, Kim had a great love of the outdoors. He had been a member of the Finger Lakes Bass-Masters, where he earned many awards over the years. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1984 with the Boy Scouts. Kim was a man of strong faith and trust in God's plan, which guided him throughout his life.
Kim spent 33 years working as a Motion Control Assembler for the Hilliard Corporation in Elmira, New York, with a strong work ethic that earned him many accolades. He worked with the same enthusiasm at The Home Depot, earning several associate Homer Awards during his three years of employment. Kim's dedication to his community was evident through his 17 years of active service as a firefighter and 13 years as an EMT with the Caton Volunteer Fire Department, where he received the President's Award in 1993 and Firefighter of the Year in 1995.
Kim is survived by his wife, Julia Gridley, whom he married on October 5, 2002. Together they have two daughters, Liliana and Katelyn Gridley. He is also survived by his brother, Dana (Cherie) Gridley of Caton; nieces, Sarah (Ryan) Youmans and Emily (Jake) Gridley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Barbara Caton; aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Winston and Evelyn (Force) Gridley.
A memorial service for Kim will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 7:00 PM at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East First Street in Corning with Pastor Sheldon Roblyer officiating. Burial will be in Montour Cemetery, Montour Falls, NY.
