Kim, age 65, joined her husband in Heaven on Saturday, June 15, 2024. She was a resident of Springfield, LA. Kim was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She loved to make people laugh and was known to have a great sense of humor. Kim enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. She adored her family, but the ones that called her Mammy held a special place in her heart. Kim was a strong woman who always put others before herself. She left her family with a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be forever missed.
Kimberly is survived by her son, John Wheat Jr. (Karrie); daughters, Sonja Leenders (Len), Tracy Wheat, Monique Wheat, Brittany Wheat; 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and her adopted son, Josh Steuber (Monica).
Kimberly is preceded in death by her loving husband, John 'Bampy' Wheat, Sr.; parents, Jeanne and Clovis Collins Sr.; and sisters, Mary Ann Collins and Karen Riley.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation from at Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 12012 Hwy 190 West Hammond, LA. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
