WATERBURY - Kimberly Ann Marco, age 60 of Waterbury, passed away on October 14, 2022 at the Mount Sinai Campus of St. Francis Hospital for Special Care facility in Hartford, CT after a long illness.
Kim was born on December 8, 1961, in Waterbury, the daughter of Elaine Mariano Petraroia and the late Paul Fontaine. She was educated in local Waterbury schools, graduated from Wilby High School, and worked for many years as a CNA in various healthcare facilities before her illness. During Kim's free time, she enjoyed spending time with her dog Brandy, and family any chance she could get. Another hobby of hers was reading mysteries. She greatly enjoyed gardening, especially with flowers, leaving behind her garden at her home and all her house plants. Alongside caring for her own animals, Kim also cared for the stray cats and dogs around the neighborhoods, feeding them and bringing them home. Specifically, during Kim's illness, she enjoyed visits from her sister and niece in her facility along with their friends. She also called home to her Mom almost every day to update her on her progress and hoped to come home one day soon.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her parents are her daughter Jennifer Palladino, her sister, Jacqueline Fontaine, her niece, Makaila Rodriguez, and her grandchildren, Nicholas Palladino, Jaiden Rivera, and Joseph Fontaine. Kim also leaves behind many cousins and friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her son Joseph Torrice and brother Paul Fontaine Jr.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Kim's life will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care 1987 East Main St Waterbury. Burial will be held privately in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery. Loving kindness is always welcome, and it only takes a moment to offer a message of condolence, share a memory or words of comfort with the family and friends of someone that was important to you. Please do that on the funeral home tribute page at www.caseyfunerals.com. If you are able however, attending a service is the thoughtful, caring, and supportive thing to do.
