Kimberly Ann "Sunshine" Riley

Kimberly Ann Riley, affectionately known as "Sunshine", entered this world on June 16, 1976, in Asheville, NC, as the second child of Mary Ann Riley and the late Samuel LaFrenzo Riley. On April 15, 2024, she peacefully journeyed back to be with the Lord.
Kimberly's journey included graduating from Clyde A. Erwin High School in 1994 and pursuing higher education at UNC Charlotte. She embodied love and devotion as a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and lifelong friend to all fortunate enough to know her. Her unconditional bond with family and friends was a testament to her compassionate nature, always offering an empathetic ear and unwavering support. An adventurous traveler at heart, Kimberly embraced life's adventures with passion and created enduring "soul ties" with those she encountered along her path. For almost 20 years, she served as the OST for Cheesecake Factory where her warmth and dedication shone brightly.
In addition to her passion for travel, Kimberly found joy in painting and gardening, enriching the lives of those around her with her creativity.
Left to honor and cherish her memory is her beloved mother, Mary Ann Riley; daughter, Elizabeth Fozard of Durham, NC; sons, Travis Durham, Jr. of Greenville, SC and Jakobe Summey of Richmond, VA; sister, Cynthia Riley of Asheville, NC; brother, James Arrington of Atlanta, GA; stepbrothers, Damian and Ryan Logan of Canton, NC; cherished grandchild, Channing McCrae, who was her Golden Ray of Sunshine.
Kimberly now reunites with her late father, Samuel LaFrenzo Riley, II and brother, Samuel LaFrenzo Riley, III.
Though she has departed this earthly realm, the light of her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service wil be 12:00pm Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Freedom Christian Church Cemetery.
