Kimberly Schultz Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 27, 2024.
Kim Schultz left us all too soon when she passed away on March 20, 2024, surrounded by her close family. She was a great wife, an amazing mom, and a kind sister to us, and will be missed.
Kim was born on April 24, 1967, to Bill and Mary Jo Egan in Brighton, CO. Brighton was always so special and spent her childhood in sports and band at Brighton High School. In the fall of 1985, she moved to Durango, CO where she attended Fort Lewis College. Through maybe fate, she met her husband, Rick, in her first semester. In January 1986, the pair started dating and then married on September 1, 1990. They grew their life together, first with their furry friends Phred and Misty. They welcomed their first son, Tyler, into the world in December 1996. They moved to Elizabeth, CO in 1999 and then welcomed their daughter, Taylor, in December 2000.
With a growing family, Kim stayed home most days and worked around the children's schedules. She quickly became the carpool mom for anything including many swim meets, triathlons, volleyball games, cross-country meets, and everything else Tyler and Taylor wanted to do. She was the first to volunteer to bring snacks or drive, whatever was needed. Not only that, but she never missed an event or game.
Throughout her life, she had a wide variety of jobs. After college, she worked for Coors Ceramics for many years. For most of her life she was involved in a pool in some capacity, she was an instructor for the Red Cross, a pool manager for several HOA organizations, and loved to teach swim lessons in her free time. Recently, she worked for Target in Castle Rock where she enjoyed being around people and not having to be in charge. She was always so full of energy and loved to talk to anyone. When she wasn't at work, she enjoyed going on trips with family. Often somewhere in the mountains or to Moab with her husband and their Jeep club.
Kim had been battling numerous health issues in the hospital since January and put up a great fight until it became too much. We know she was well-loved, so anyone who would like to attend is welcome at her Celebration of Life ceremony on Saturday, March 30th starting at 1 pm at the Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel in Castle Rock, CO.
She is survived by Richard (Rick) Schultz, her husband of 33 years. Her son, Tyler (27), and daughter, Taylor (23). As well as her father William (Bill) Egan (90) and her four sisters: Kathy, Karen, Kelly, and Kris.
