Kiran Chawla, 58, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. She faced her illness with incredible strength and resilience, undergoing more than ten types of chemotherapy over the years. Kiran was born in India on February 20th, 1967, to her parents, Bhimbhai and Asha Chichra.
She had a kind and selfless heart, always willing to drop everything to help others, even at her own expense. She never forgot special occasions, birthdays, anniversaries, etc, and would always send heartfelt messages filled with cherished memories and warm wishes. Even with strangers, she had a remarkable gift for offering comfort - her heart was big and full of love.
She had a love and passion for cooking, nourishing others with homemade food from the heart. Her cooking brought joy to many, from friends at graduation parties, who delighted in her tres leches, mango lassi, and lasagna to family at holiday gatherings, where she served her famous dal, fried turkey, and red velvet cake. Even when tired after her chemo, she made sure everyone was well fed and cared for.
She is survived by her immediate family of her caring mother-in-law, Brijbala, her devoted husband, Raj, her loving brother, Dev, and her beloved children, Sarina (and son-in-law Michael) and Sameer. Kiran was preceded in death by her immediate family of her parents, Bhimbhai and Asha.
A memorial service celebrating Kiran's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 7th, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel.
