In Loving Memory of Kok On Wong

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, Husband, and Friend

– Passed away in Deltona, Florida on August 12, 2025

With heavy hearts and incredibly deep love, our family announces the passing of Kok On Wong, who left us peacefully on August 12, 2025. Though his journey on this Earth has ended, his spirit and love will forever remain rooted in our hearts.

Born and raised in Malaysia with family across the globe, Kok On carried with him the vibrant spirit of his homeland everywhere he went through his actions of kindness, delicious Asian cuisines, and the way he could still touch so many hearts despite not always speaking the same language. A true traveler in both body and soul, he made memories and friends that stretched far beyond any borders. Always taking the time to appreciate the beauty in people, places, and of course plants of all kinds. Although he was the son of the prestigious tin-mining Wong Family in Perak, Malaysia, he was always incredibly down to Earth and treated all people with deep respect.

A true gardener at heart, Kok On had an extraordinary gift of bringing life to everything he touched. Every home he lived in was made more beautiful by his hands and he always created the most beautiful, lush gardens. He could make anything grow and that nurturing spirit stretched far beyond his plants. We will miss watching you tinkering with things around the house and turning every detail into something worth showing off. He poured that same love into his family, his cooking, and the quiet acts of kindness that defined him.

Kok On's dedication to attention and care, cannot be understated, Kok On could always be found taking care of his fishes, which he loved dearly, always constantly adding more beautiful scenery to their tank his fishes called home. On every holiday, whether it was a simple gathering, or a major holiday, Kok On had made sure every loved one felt a sense of wonder when the holidays arrived and greeted the family with a fully decorated house.

To his children and grandchildren, he was always the kind one. The helper. The steady presence who was always there to offer a hand, a plate of food, a cup of morning coffee, or a gentle pat to the family dogs. He was the heart of our dinners, the festive decorator during every celebration, the quiet support during difficult times, and the one who always made sure everyone had what they needed before thinking of himself. Not only will we miss him dearly, we will also miss his words of wisdom and encouragement. We will miss his true laughs along with the gentle rubs on his bald head, the little things that really brought us so much joy. We will also remember his motto: more is not better. Do not live beyond your means, be grateful, and enjoy what is sufficient for us.

Kok On will be dearly missed by his daughter, son, two grandchildren, wife, and extended family both near and far, including many still in Singapore, Malaysia, and across the globe. Though we will all grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with loved ones he missed so dearly. Together again, somewhere in the most beautiful garden surrounded by nothing but peace, joy, and comfort.

A family hosted Celebration of Life will be held in his honor and announced at a future date, where his immediate family will gather to remember the man who gave so much to so many. Details will be shared with friends and family as soon as they are available.

In his own words:

"Don't let anybody tell you that you cannot do something. Keep going. Failure is a mindset, never give up. If you have done your best, you are the best. Accept it and keep going".

We, your kids and grandkids, will keep going – carrying your wisdom, your warmth, and your memory always with us. We love you, dad and grandpa, so very much.
