Kristine “Kris” (Ten Dolle) Rogers died peacefully in her home on Thursday evening, July 17, 2025 surrounded by her family after a year-long battle with cancer. She was 59 years old.

Kris was born on October 16th, 1965 to John and Margery (Dykstra) Ten Dolle. She was a proud graduate of Oostburg High School and earned her degree in Elementary Education from UW Whitewater. She married Steve Rogers on November 12, 1988.

Kris was a teacher. Her career started with three years of teaching at the elementary school in Hingham until its closure. She then taught at Oostburg Elementary School for the remaining thirty years of her career.

Kris loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed weekends up north at the cabin, trips to Anna Maria Island in Florida, and the occasional trip into the city for a concert or a musical. An avid sports fan, Kris loved watching the Brewers and the Packers as well as supporting former students, nieces, and/or nephews in their athletic pursuits. She was also an avid reader.

Kris always displayed a level of care and kindness that made the people around her want to be better. She was endlessly supportive of her children’s passions and goals, and even when she didn’t understand them, she’d listen and ask questions until she did. She was constantly thinking of others and always knew what to do to show others how much she cared for them. She lived out her faith in God every day she lived. She will be greatly missed.

Kris is survived by her husband of 36 years Steve Rogers, her sons, Zachary (Kelly) and Jesse Rogers, her grandchildren Benaiah and Evangeline Rogers, her father John Ten Dolle Jr., sister Janice (Kurt Casady), sister-in-law Wendy Ten Dolle, niece Sarah (Charles) Fitzgerald, nephews Michael and Kevin Ten Dolle. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Fay Rogers, and siblings-in-law Dianna (John) Keller, Rick (Julie) Rogers, Jacque Vance, Kathy (Brian) Jung, Tracy (Andy) Kissel, Tom (Sara) Rogers, Paul (Jill) Rogers, Lynn Dickfoss, and Peter (Brandi) Rogers, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Kris is preceded in death by her mother Margery Ten Dolle, brother Steve Ten Dolle, father-in-law Alfred Rogers, and brother-in-law Patrick Rogers.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Hingham Church with Pastor Barrett Marcantel officiating. All are welcome to view a livestream of the service on her obituary page at wenigfh.com . The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 3:00-6:00PM and again on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 1:00PM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Kris’ name to be set aside for a future scholarship for high schoolers pursuing degrees in elementary education and for a future memorial bench to be purchased for the Oostburg Public Library.

Thank you to all of Kris’s family and friends for their love, support, and help through this past year. A special thank you to Dr. Bettag, Amy, Amanda, Ellen, Mel, and the rest of the amazing staff at Sheboygan Cancer and Blood Specialists, the Sunday nurses at St. Nicholas Hospital, and Dianna Keller for taking such good care of her until the end.
