Melanie Joy Scuderi

Melanie Joy Scuderi, of Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 59 years old. Melanie was born on December 11, 1965, at Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois to the late Albert and Lorene (Short) Harbuck. From a young age, Melanie embodied an adventurous spirit and a deep love for life. She was passionate about travel, always eager to explore new places and experiences. One of her greatest joys was spending time at her cherished beach house in Mexico Beach, Florida, where she found peace and happiness by the sea. Every fall, Melanie looked forward to the Georgia National Fair-a tradition she held dear. But above all, Melanie treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Melma." Her warmth, laughter, and unconditional love left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lorene Harbuck. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Scuderi of Warner Robins, GA; her daughter, Chelsea Johnston (Stephen) of Hawkinsville, GA; her son, Cory Day of Perry, GA; stepsons, Christopher Scuderi (Dara) of Warner Robins, GA, and Timothy James Scuderi of Dahlonega, GA; and her beloved grandchildren, Conley, Arilyn, and Ellery Johnston, and Anthony Scuderi. She also leaves behind her sister, Cindy Harbuck of Warner Robins, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her lifelong friend, Donna Perreault, whose deep bond with Melanie brought generations together in love and unity. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. A celebration of Melanie's life will take place on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel, with Cole Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Melanie's memory to Heart of Georgia Developmental Disabilities Ministries Home, 238 Hatcher Rd, Warner Robins, GA 31088. With honor and care, Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with Melanie's final arrangements. Melanie's legacy of love, adventure, and devotion to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
