Lance Allan Spencer of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024 at North Kansas City Hospital. Lance was born December 24, 1959 to Charles A. Spencer Sr. and Madolene (Hodges) Spencer. Brother of Chuck (Alberta) Spencer, Dee (Margo) Spencer, Sharon Chapman and Debbie (Bob) Templeton.
Lance and his wife Elizabeth A. (Zimmerman) Spencer married on December 22, 1977 sharing over 40 years of marriage. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kelly, M. Spencer, and Cynthia L. Paul. Together, Lance and Beth devoted their lives to loving and nurturing their family and loved ones, raising their children with boundless love and affection. Lance’s family and friends meant everything to him.
Lance was an Oak Park high school graduate, and soon entered the workforce after graduation as a warehouse worker for KC Store Fixtures where he worked for over 20 years. Lance was a hard-working man, taking pride, in all that he did.
Lance will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Lance will be remembered for finding pleasure in the simple things in life, his free spirit, his contagious smile and laughter, for always lending a hand to others, and entertaining all who knew him with his sharp sense of humor and quick wit, his unwavering faith that God had a plan for him, and most of all the warm love that he spread to all who knew him.
Lance is preceded in death by his parents , Madolene (Hodges) and Charles A. Spencer Sr., his grandparents, his wife, Beth (Zimmerman) Spencer, and his sister’s, Debbi Templeton and Sharon Chapman.
Lance is survived by his children, Kelly M. Spencer, Cynthia L. Paul, his siblings Dee (Margo) Spencer, Chuck (Alberta) Spencer, his grandchildren Kathleen (Mason) Reed, Kimberly Jarvis, Kameron Spencer, Madolene Paul, Robert Botts, his great-grandchildren Jace Reed, Easton Reed his nieces and nephews, Donnie Chapman, Marcie Davidson, Christy (Spencer) Smith, Garry Spencer, Mike Spencer and Sharla Templeton, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery Saturday June 1, 2024 at 11:00 am. Internment of Ashes will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 1pm.
