LaNell passed peacefully at home with her family on May 7, 2025, just five months after the passing of her husband of 72 years, Conard. LaNell was born at home in Caddo, Oklahoma on January 19, 1935 to Bill & Essie Mae Hamilton. She was raised on a dairy farm until marrying Conard in 1952 and moving to Fort Worth. Conard and LaNell were blessed with three children: Deanna, Wes and Patricia. Before settling in Waxahachie in 1970, the family lived in Longview, Texas and Atlanta, Texas. LaNell stayed home and raised her children and cared for several others in an in-home daycare. After moving to Waxahachie, LaNell was instrumental in the success of the family oil & gas distribution business. In 1981, LaNell began working for Arco Oil & Gas in downtown Dallas. Upon her retirement in 1994, she was able to enjoy her favorite hobby of fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. LaNell always had a special gift for loving and caring for children. LaNell was part of a special group of ladies, the Terrific Twelve, who socialized together and shared a deep, enduring friendship that brought joy, support, and laughter into each other’s lives. LaNell was a member of First Baptist Church of Waxahachie.
LaNell was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Conard, in December 2024. She is survived by her three children DeAnna Atkinson (Jimmy), Wes Yeats (Jill) and Patricia Marshall (Mark), one sibling, Dan Hamilton (Sonja), 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Ashley and Jennifer of Bristol Hospice for their love and care they showed to our mother, Patricia and DeAnna.
A visitation will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, May 13th at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to Campfire Creek Therapeutic Riding.
