Larry Burkholder, 78, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the Keystone Villa of Ephrata. He was born on February 28, 1947, in Brownstown, Pennsylvania, to the late Levi & Anna (Getz) Burkholder, and the loving husband of Diane (Fry) Burkholder until her passing in January of 2025.

Larry graduated from Ephrata High School and went on to make a significant impact as a history teacher at Warwick High School. In addition to his role in education, Larry enjoyed a fulfilling position as the assistant manager at the Ephrata Pool and Recreation Center for over 20 years. His dedication to promoting community wellness and providing recreational opportunities for families left a lasting impression on many. Outside of work, Larry had a wide range of interests that reflected his vibrant personality. He participated in APBA, enjoying the intricacies of sports strategies. He was an avid fan of baseball and all Philadelphia sports teams, enjoying the thrill of games and the camaraderie they brought. He also had a special fondness for oldies music, particularly enjoying the tunes of Elvis, which filled his home with joy. Larry devoted his life to teaching, community, and family, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Larry is survived by his three sons, Bryan Burkholder, Bradley Burkholder, and Brett Burkholder; grandson, Quinten Burkholder; and sister, Maryann Sensenig.

Services will be private to the family.
