Larry R. Nolting, age 71, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at home surrounded by family. He was born July 24, 1954, in Versailles, son of the late Orva H. and Ruby Marie (Lemler) Nolting. He married Debbie White on June 7, 1973, and they had a daughter, Amy. Later, on November 10, 1987, he married his surviving wife, Terri (Capps) (Pawling) Nolting. He found joy outdoors – running his rabbit dogs, chasing whitetail, squirrels, or just sitting in his favorite fishing spot. He spent most of his life working with his hands in carpentry and welding (over building everything). He was often found in his shop working on a project or teaching his crafts with, "you're doing that wrong" as a tagline. More than anything, he was a devoted and amazing father, even when he didn't have to be. He raised his son with unwavering love and dedication as if he were his very own. He loved his children and instilled the values of kindness, resilience and integrity. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the lessons he shared. In addition to his wife, Terri, he is survived by his children, Amy Knuth (Mark Mitchell), Andrew Pawling (Andrea) and Jessica Ruehter (Allen); grandchildren, Riley Stanley (Taylor), Noah Whittle, Owen Ruehter, Brantley Ruehter, Adalyn Pawling and Addy Rayl; great-grandchildren, Lyla Stanley, Esme Stanley, Adeline Stanley and Watson Stanley; his sister, LaVera Bender and many other close, extended family and friends. A note from Terri…… Larry requested that there be no funeral services. He understood how traumatizing it was for me when I lost Bill, my first husband. Larry said, "I would like to outlive you by at least one day so you don't have to go through that again". But God had a different plan. To protect me in the only way left to him, he requested no services. I will graciously accept that gift. Thank you for understanding. .Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
