Larry Ernest Reed

Larry Ernest Reed was born on February 24, 1955 and passed quietly at his home on January 13, 2023.
His parents were Sonny and Betty Lewis Reed, who both preceded him in death.
Larry and his father lived most of his childhood with his grandparents, Ernest and Ruth Reed, who also preceded him in death.
Larry attended Southport schools in the Class of 1973.
Larry married Debra June Reed on December 4, 1981 and adopted her two girls, Lori Ann (Reed) Tolar and Michelle J. (Reed) Childers. They have all preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his best friend and cousin, Duane Reed Sr., Uncle Jim Reed, Aunt Mickey Reed Bullock, his sisters, Carleen Shackles and Shari Lewis Reed, along with grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
He was adored by his family and friends for being such a free spirit and for his sense of humor. He entertained anyone who would listen to him belt out a song with his guitar.
Larry and Debbie loved riding their Harleys and met several amazing friends on their rides over the years.
Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
He worked construction most of his adult life, including 29 years at Robert D. Young Construction.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel with visitation from 12:00pm until the funeral hour. Burial to follow at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
