Larry Steven Wesley, 72, of Clayton, passed with family by his side at his home on Thursday, September 26, 2024. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana to the late Cecil Franklin Wesley and Winnie Alice (Smith) Wesley on October 3, 1951.

At the age of 19, he married the love of his life, Paulette Furr, on December 19, 1970. The couple had enjoyed over 53 years of marriage. Larry worked as a truck driver until he retired in 2008. He had worked for Celadon and Dock to Dock. 

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, yardwork, and bird watching. He was a master “tinkerer” and enjoyed painting his garden gnome collection. 

Larry will be missed by his loving family and friends including his wife, Paulette Wesley of Clayton; daughter, Lisa (husband, Frank) Staples of Mooresville; sisters, Shirley Jean Conant of Greenfield, Roberta June Cole of Clay City, and Betty Root of Lawrence; and grandchildren, Cheyenne (husband, Austin) Phillips of Brazil and Gavin Stacy of Mooresville, as well as many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Winnie Wesley; brother, Raymond Wesley; and sister, Alice Huffman.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, October 4th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Larry’s Life Celebration® Service will directly follow beginning at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville following the service.
