She was a graduate of Kane Area High School, Class of 1972. Laura earned her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from West Chester University.
Laura worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block for over 35 years and over 15 years as an Embroiderer for Erie Sports Store.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Erie and St. Lawrence the Martyr Parish in Albion. She was active in the Erie Cursillo Movement.
Laura enjoyed gardening, was an avid walker, loved animals, and had a special talent for needlework, sewing and craftwork. She especially loved being a grandma and created many handmade gifts for all her grandchildren. Laura is survived by her husband, Harry Risinger; her daughters, Alena Pearce (Daniel) of Abington, Pa and Carolyn Pikoulas (William) of Wilmington, NC; her son, Jared Risinger of West Springfield; her grandchildren, Clara and Colin Pearce and George, Vincent, Lewis, Eugene, and Sylvia Pikoulas; her brothers, A. Phillip (Sue) and Paul Bauerle; her sisters, Linda Marconi (James), Lisa Smith, Liana Bauerle (James Robinson), Louise McLaurin (Doug), and Lorna Smith (Gary); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call at Holy Rosary Parish, 2701 East Ave., Erie, Pa 16504 on Monday, May 12 from 10 am until the time of Funeral Mass there at 12 pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie, Pa 16504.
