Laurie Jeanne Augustin

Laurie Jeanne Augustin, 67, of Lake City, passed away on Friday morning, October 10, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family, after an extended illness. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on March 20, 1958 to the late William Phinney and Rita Roy Phinney. She has made Lake City her home since 1998, moving here from the Pompano Beach area. She worked for Publix for a little over 15 years where she was the Bakery Manager and Cake Decorator. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants, bowling, cheering on the Miami Dolphins, going to the Rodeo's and spending as much time with her "Fur Children" as she could. She is preceded in death by her brothers, William & Ronald Phinney.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary Lee Augustin of Lake City; her "Fur Children", Max and Cally Lake City; sisters, Linda Walker (Steve) of Wilmington, NC, Merry McCulloch (Randy) of Leland, NC and Karen McDougall of Wimington, NC; and her brother-in-law, Paul Augustin of Pittsburgh, PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for Mrs. Augustin will be conducted on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:30 P.M. prior to the service in the Funeral Home Chapel.
