Lawrence "Larry" Roy Rosen, 69, of Rochester Hills, MI, entered eternal rest on March 28, 2025, following heart failure. He will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit and his ability to make both strangers and friends feel welcome.
Born and raised on Lerner Street in Clawson, MI, Larry remained deeply connected to the neighborhood where his values were first shaped. He was a 1973 graduate of Clawson High School and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clawson, where his faith provided both a foundation and a compass throughout his life. He held his church community close and remained committed to walking in faith.
Larry built a long and accomplished career as an over-the-road truck driver. He knew the nation's highways by heart and took pride in the responsibility that came with the job. He was also a mentor-always willing to guide new drivers with patience and integrity. His dedication to hard work and doing things the right way left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Though his travels often took him far from home, Larry never lost sight of what mattered most: the people in his life. He cherished moments of reconnection with old friends and family, and in recent years was excitedly planning a Lerner Street reunion for those who grew up there in the 1950s and '60s.
Outside of work, Larry liked to fish and loved storytelling. A thoughtful reader, he also found joy in crafting narratives, and was in the midst of writing a novel at the time of his passing. But above all, one of the roles he most treasured was that of uncle. His devotion to his nephew and niece was complete-marked by unconditional love, support, and a quiet pride in the people they were becoming.
Larry is survived by his brothers, Karl F. Rosen and William J. Rosen, both of Rochester Hills; his sister-in-law, Phyllis J. Chase Rosen; his nephew, Joshua R. Rosen of Rochester Hills; and his niece, Anne E. Rosen of Oakland, CA.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main Street, Clawson. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., in-state at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Spirit of Christ Church in Clawson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Larry's life was a testament to faith, hard work, and quiet love. He will be missed for his steady presence, his generous heart, and the devotion he showed to all who knew him.
