Amy Elizabeth Grappin

Amy Elizabeth (Schigur) Grappin passed away on August 18, 2025, at Corewell Health Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. She was a mother, daughter, and first-time grandmother. Amy resided in Troy and was formerly Clawson. She was 56 years old.
Amy was born on October 1, 1968, to Rochelle (McArthur) Schigur. Raised in Clawson, she graduated Clawson High School in 1986 and earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy from Oakland University. Throughout her career, she demonstrated unwavering commitment to patient care, serving at Beaumont Healthcare Royal Oak and later at St. John's Hospital in Macomb County.
Her love for animals was evident through her volunteer work at the Oakland County Animal Shelter, especially her devotion to dogs, including her yellow lab, Duke.
A dedicated gardener, Amy enjoyed cultivating flowers, camping, hiking, golfing, and collecting rocks and antiques. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting many State and National Parks. She had a keen interest in genealogy, frequently traveling to explore her heritage. Above all, Amy valued time spent with her family, particularly her granddaughter, Mycah.
She is survived by her children: Jackalyn Grappin, Rellon J.(Alena) Grappin, and James Grappin; her granddaughter, Mycah; siblings Heather (Scott) Novak, Gabriell (Peter) Walsh, Chris (Michelle) Foy, and Lori (Eric) Macyda; her uncle Chuck (Bonnie) McArthur; and many nieces and nephews; her life partner of 31 years, Rellon L.Grappin; long time friend Debra Ullman and her loyal companion, Duke. Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Rochelle (McArthur) Schigur (1984), and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a funeral ceremony on Monday, August 25, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM, at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street (Livernois between 14 and 15 Mile Roads), Clawson, Michigan 48017. Interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
