Lawrence Peter Silvestro

Mars Hill - Lawrence P. Silvestro, 79, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025, while at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born February 21, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Lorenzo Joseph Silvestro Jr. and Alma Sophia (Pedersen) Silvestro Nutter

Lawrence enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked for many years as an electronics repair man.

Lawrence will be remembered for his gentle spirit and warm heart. A kind and friendly soul, he had a quiet presence that brought comfort to those around him. Though he often kept to himself, Lawrence never missed an opportunity to share a smile or offer a kind word. He loved to tell stories and bring laughter through his tales. A true lover of cats, he carried treats in his pocket for the stray cats who crossed his path. Showing his compassion for the smallest of creatures. He found joy in their companionship and the simple moments of life, often giving God thanks for his everyday blessings. Lawrence's quiet gratitude and kind nature will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Lorenzo Silvestro Sr. and Alma Silvestro Nutter, Lawrence was predeceased by both sets of grandparents.

He is survived by two sisters, Deanna L. Simons and her husband, Ken, Donna A. Cruz and her husband, Johnny, several nieces and nephews, Kenny Simons, Eric Simons, Karen (Simons) Shorey, Sarah Price, and Tim Plucinski.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main St., Mars Hill, where a memorial service with military honors will be conducted at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Bud Fancy officiating.
