Leanne Louise (Cook) Norton was born in Jay, Maine, October 12, 1940, to Ernest and Louise Cook. She married Clifford Norton August 13, 1958 in Jay, Maine. They had five children, Patrick, Sheryl, Deborah and Nathaniel, she was predeceased by her middle son Jeremy. She was Grammie to Jeni, Chris, Clint, Jeremy, Sarah, Hunter, Brenna, Cameron, Samantha, and Zachary.. Great Grammie to five amazing kids. She was encouraging and proud of all of her "kids" and would take the time to say so.
Her love for people was limitless. If you had a problem, an illness,or something you just had to talk out, she was the ear you could bend. She had solutions to anything that ails you. She loved to listen and help if she could. She had a whole house full of kids that were not related but were still family. They would just drop in to talk. Anyone could talk to her if they had any questions. She was proud and supportive of all of her kids.
Leanne worked at Hood Jr. High in Derry for 21 years as a special education aide and taught adult literacy at night.
Leanne was a thoughtful and kind soul, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, teacher and friend. Her polite aggressive hospitality and kind heart made everyone feel welcome. She loved sharing her stories with anyone that would listen, and she was a "mom" to all who knew her. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts she touched.
