Leda Kay Hominick, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many, peacefully passed away on June 17 2024, in Alice, Texas. She was born on December 14, 1945, in Sulphur Springs Texas, to Edward J. and Leda Lee Laird. Leda Kay's early years were filled with adventures her family followed the oil field business across Texas before finally settling in Kingsville, Texas. It was there that she attended King High School and developed a passion for baking delicious cookies and pastries.

Known for her warm and gentle nature, Leda Kay dedicated many years of her life to serving others. She began her career as a cafeteria lady at Calallen High School before becoming the cafeteria manager at Zephyr Baptist Camp. After years of hard work and dedication, she retired a few years ago, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Leda Kay was cherished for her kindhearted personality and love for all living beings, especially animals. Her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone she encountered.

Leda Kay is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Joseph A. Hominick; her cherished daughter Leda Lynn (Kenneth A.) Cook; five adoring grandchildren: Samuel, Stacy, Genevieve, Jack, and Daniel Cook; her sister Dorathy Walshe; as well as three nieces and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward J. and Leda Lee Laird, and her sister Eddie Jo Faske.

The life of Leda Kay Hominick will be celebrated during Visitation services at 4pm on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas. A Rosary will follow that evening at 5 pm. The interment will take place at Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery in Corpus Christi at 10am on Tuesday, June 25, 2024

Leda Kay's legacy of compassion and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she made the world a brighter place with her presence.
