Lee Charles Geissman, 91 of Lodi, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Hospice of Medina, following a period of declining health.
He was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on September 15, 1931 to the late John and Evelyn (Rothchild) Geissman.
Lee grew up on the family farm in New Washington, Ohio and graduated from New Washington High School in 1949.
He began his career with the AC&Y Railroad and later worked for Norfolk and Western as an operator, retiring as a dispatcher in 1989 following 37 years of service.
He was a member of the Lodi United Methodist Church where he formerly served as a church trustee. He was also active with the church's Youth Work Missions to West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. He volunteered in a number of local organizations which included the Society for Handicapped Citizens, Medina County Kidney Foundation, Dialysis Patient Transport, American Cancer Society's Smoking Cessation Program, and Medina County Railroad Safety Task Force. He had participated with his sons in the Lodi Boy Scout Troop, as well as training leaders for Great Trail Council.
Lee is survived by the love of his life of 65 years, Patricia (nee Mullins);
4 sons, Frederick (Diane) Geissman of Lodi,
Robert (Annette) Geissman of Lodi,
Timothy Geissman of Seville and
Gary (Cindy) Geissman of Concord, NC and
5 grandchildren, Leah Frary, Matthew, Jennifer, Spencer, and Carrie Geissman.
Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina St., Lodi, where his funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 5, at 11:00 AM.
Rev. Dr. Donald Kuntz will officiate.
Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lodi.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
