George "Lee" Sheorn, 77, of Camden, South Carolina passed away at his home peacefully, on Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born on June 23, 1947 in Camden, SC and was the son of the late Kathryn Little Sheorn and Wiley Elliott Sheorn.
Lee was born and raised in Camden and graduated from Camden High School and Greenville Technical College. He owned and operated Camden Dental Lab. He also served 3 years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Lee loved being outside, he was truly an "outdoors" person. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing – golf was also on that list. He sincerely appreciated the friendship of the people around him on these outings, it was equally as important and a huge part of his day. He spent 26 years living on Lake Wateree and took full advantage of everything the lake had to offer.
Lee is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kitty Sheorn (his hunting and outdoor partner); his brother, Elliott Sheorn (Beverly) of Camden and sister, Kathy Parris (Jerry) of Anderson; his nephews and cousins. Lee was predeceased by his parents, Kathryn and Wiley Elliott Sheorn.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 502 E. DeKalb Street, Camden, SC 29020. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Quaker Cemetery immediately following the service.
The family would like to thank MUSC Hospice, who made his transition more peaceful. Also, the many personal friends, family and the folks from Bethesda Presbyterian Church who spent their time visiting and praying – Thank You. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Bethesda Presbyterian Church at the above address.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
