Lee A. Vance, age 62 of East Haven, beloved husband of Ellen (Davis) Vance, passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2025 at the CT Hospice in Branford. Born in Rumford, Maine, the son of the late Milton and Anita Vance, he moved to Connecticut when he was 18 years old. Before his early retirement, Lee was a Warehouse supervisor for Morganite Crucible in Wallingford. Lee loved sports of all kinds especially Hockey. He enjoyed working around his home on various projects and was particularly proud of his gardens. Lee relished the role of supervisor when he recruited his family on some of his projects. His greatest joy however was spending time with his family and was so very proud of his children. In addition to his loving wife, Ellen he will be sadly missed by his three beloved children, Michael Lee Vance and his wife Kaleigh of Madison, Kaitlyn Vance Medlyn and her husband James of Guilford and Kristen E. Vance of East Haven; two cherished grandchildren, Liam and Chase; five brothers and sisters, Robert Vance, Sr., Donna (Steve) Worcester, Janet (Herbert) Bradley, Milton Vance, Jr., Priscilla (Roger) Ruff, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by two brothers, Peter Vance and Gerald Vance. Friends may greet the family Friday, October 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A funeral service celebrating Lee’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rowena Kemp officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers friends may consider a donation in Lee’s memory to either the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 or St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
