Leigh Stephan Flaherty, 81 of Greenwich, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at his home. Leigh was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 31, 1944. He studied Respiratory Therapy and continued on to become a Pharmacist at Bridgeton Hospital. Many knew him for his wit and sense of humor.
He loved traveling with his beloved wife in their Silver Van/Camper. Some places that they visited were Alaska twice, all of the Canadian Provinces twice, cruises to most of the Caribbean islands and a 5 week cruise to Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Ireland and many other destinations. He loved Colebrook, New Hampshire and for the last 15 years summers were spent there in a camper.
He was proud of his Irish heritage. He enjoyed building computers, working outside on his tractor, skidsteer or bulldozer and his most treasured hobby was photography. He shared his beautiful pictures on Facebook and shared pictures with many people. He was a Quaker and loved the Lord.
He is survived by; his wife of 21 years, Deborah Brooks Flaherty; stepsons, Scott P. Riley and wife Regina and Sean T. Riley and wife Amanda; Aidan Scott Riley (his treasured grandson of whom he was so proud of and loved him dearly); step-granddaughter, Annabel Drake; and the newest addition, Lily Ann Riley (the day he held her he was so full of love for her). In addition, he is survived by; his cousin, Renee Geyer Richards of Washington state, niece, Noelle Richards; and many friends and acquaintances from over the years.
