Leigha Antionette Cirillo, our 15-year-old warrior princess of Toms River, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024. Born in Toms River, Leigha demonstrated remarkable resilience and made a profound impact on numerous lives. Her legacies, Leigha's Hope and Leigha Strong, contributed significantly to the establishment of Rare Disease Day in New Jersey. As a student in the Toms River district, Leigha's diverse interests included swimming, music, walking, and spending time at the beach. She also enjoyed bike rides, Disney World visits, traveling, and supporting her twin brother's football endeavors and her sister's cheer competitions.
Her favorite hobby included cuddling with her mommy and daddy. Leigha cherished her family, friends, sea turtles, and community, leaving an indelible mark through her advocacy for an inclusive splash pad. Her radiant smile illuminated every room she entered. Despite her brief life, Leigha's influence was immense, paving the way for a better world. She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Erica Cirillo; siblings, Kristianna and Joseph; grandparents, Carol Carlson, Beverly and Joseph Cirillo; and numerous cousins, her best friends: Arianna, Brayden, Brooke, Alexa, Madison, Ray, Cody, Kaci, Johnny, Ava, Brody, Bradley, Danielle, Hannah, Adayln, Kaylyn, Samantha, Leah, Nico, Andrew, Jaime, Christoper, Isabella, and the Cirillo, Ruglio and Hansen cousins. Her Aunt and Uncles: Michelle, John, Mindy, Chris, Denise, Mike, Ray, Nicole, Rosemary, Chris, Dawn, Neal, Eileen, great-aunts and uncles. Leigha will miss her daily FaceTime calls with her Great Aunt Roe Roe. Leigha's enduring legacy will forever be remembered. Her bond with Becky, Wende, and Shema remains unbroken. As well as her bond with her second families; The Sheila Drive Crew, The Waskiewiczes, Briggs, Lubsens, Samuolises, Hordychs, Eliases, Martinezes, Gonzalezes, Gordons, Mansuetos, Foleys, Barcuses, Fernandeses, and Lambs as well as her unconditional love for her twin brother and her sister will continue to inspire. Leigha's family and community will ensure her name lives on. Leigha's will be honored as follows.
