Graveside services for Ms. Leisa Marie Woods, 64, of Carthage, will be on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11 AM at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Carthage, Texas. Leisa Marie Woods, was born on January 9, 1961, to parents William Thomas "Tommy" Woods, Sr. and Judith Ann Andrus. She passed this life on Friday afternoon, October 10, 2025, in Tenaha, TX. She graduated from high school while living in Cairo, Egypt at Cairo American College. She later went to school to become a travel agent in Houston where she worked for American Express Travel for over 30 years. Leisa loved to travel all over the world with family and friends. She loved telling stories of her travels. She also was an avid scuba diver. She gave a loving home to her rescued "furbabies", Sunshine and Gibson. Leisa had a beautiful smile and wonderful personality, which will be missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, sister, Sherry Woods, and brother-in-law, Charles Holcomb. She is survived by her mother, Judy Robbins, of Carthage; sister, Debbie Holcomb of Carthage; brother, Tommy Woods, Jr. and wife Deborah of Kilgore; uncle, Ken Andrus and wife Belinda of Carthage; uncle, Wayne "Bubba" Woods and wife Carolyn of Livingston; uncle, Dana Clay Woods and wife Kelly of Tatum; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Kory Sharpe, Lawsen Sharpe, Jake Stillwell, Clint Pope, Chad Hutto.
Leisa's family would like to extend a very special thank you and love to Tina and Chad Hutto of Christian Love Private Home Care and Little Kaisyn, who helped take care of her for the past 2 years.
Thank you to Hearts Way Hospice for taking care of our beloved Leisa in her last days. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association to help fund research for a cure or to Hearts Way Hospice of Carthage.
"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
