Mrs. Rebecca Brown Patrick, 71, of Karnack, Texas will be remembered on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Faith Assembly of God with Rev. David Baze, Rev. Richard Skinner, and Jay Koenig officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hawthorn on Friday night from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Mrs. Rebecca Brown Patrick was born February 20, 1954 in Carthage, Texas and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 2, 2025 in Denton, Texas. Becky, as she was known, was the second of three children born to Nettie June Hammett and Otha Alvie Brown. She was raised in Carthage until her family moved to Wharton, where she graduated high school in 1972. She graduated from Texas Women's University in 1976.
A lifelong educator, Becky served as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and speech language pathologist for 44 years in several school districts throughout the state. She had a heart for special needs children and touched the lives of countless children and students throughout her career. She also inspired all three of her children to spend time working as classroom teachers.
She married Zachary Allen Patrick in 1997, and together they were members of Faith Assembly of God in Carthage for many years, and then Jefferson First Assembly, where she loved singing on the praise team, leading the Adult Sunday School Class, and cooking for their Wednesday night gathering. Becky truly loved being on the water, whether fishing on the lake or cruising in the Caribbean, and cherished Christmases with her family. She also loved to cook, and was known for her phenomenal banana pudding, chicken spaghetti, and the best chicken fried steak on planet Earth.
Becky is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Brenda Brown Biever and nephew, Adam Biever. She is survived by her husband, Zachary Allen Patrick of Karnack; children, Jay Koenig and wife Christy of Liberty Hill, Jamie Austin of Denton, Jeff Koenig and wife Alejandra of Denton, and Katie Patrick of Carthage; brother, Steve Brown and wife Lisa of Flagstaff, Arizona; grandchildren, Jordan Koenig and wife Laine, Craig Koenig and wife Ally, Leah Koenig and Jack Ingram, Faith Austin, Hope Austin, Morgan Koenig, and Aubrey Koenig; one great-grandson on the way, Jack Ingram; niece Amanda Biever-Levonius and husband Austin; and a multitude of loving cousins and friends

Earlier today

Such a nice lady. We will always remember the Christmas concert you and Zach took us too not long after we're moved to Karnack. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.
