Leo O. LeBlanc, 97 years young, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Vero Beach, Florida, surrounded by his wife and children. Born on July 13, 1927 in Hartford, CT, Leo was the beloved son and one of seven children born to the late William LeBlanc and Emma (LeBlanc).
Leo and Norma met while attending Hillyer College. They were happily married for 71 years. A life well-lived and a heart well-loved, Leo leaves behind a legacy of warmth, strength, and family. He was the co-Founder of Conn Acoustics Inc., which he started in 1957. After retirement, he enjoyed his time spent between West Hartford and Florida. He made the most of every day and was happiest playing golf, puttering in the yard or watching the Yankees. He was a long-time member of Avon Country Club, in Avon, CT and Grand Harbor Country Club in Vero Beach, Florida (30+ years). He also was a founding communicant of St. Helena's Parish in West Hartford, CT.
Leo will be remembered for his infectious smile and his famous motto "always be firm, but be fair".
Leo is survived by his beloved wife Norma LeBlanc; his children, James and Karen LeBlanc, Laura LeBlanc, Peter and Julie LeBlanc, Lynn LeBlanc; his grandchildren, Victoria (Seth) Dutcher, Andrew (Emma) LeBlanc, Mathew LeBlanc, Michael LeBlanc, Julie D LeBlanc, Abigail LeBlanc; and his great-grandchildren, Addison Dutcher, Barrett Dutcher and Otto LeBlanc.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers, nurses, and staff at Encompass Healthcare and the VNA in Vero Beach, FL for their compassion and kindness.
Calling hours will be from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, May 5th, at St. Peter Claver's Church Hall, located at 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford, CT. Immediately following calling hours, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter Claver.
