Leonard ‘Bill’ Rice Obituary
Bill was born and raised in Calgary. He served in the Navy from 1963 to 1966. In 1971, he met Betty and they married in 1979. Bill loved traveling with his family to places like Columbia Falls, Montana. He was a jovial man, also known to be quick with a joke and a heartfelt laugh. He lived life to the fullest and was always willing to help someone in need at a moments notice.
Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty Rice; daughter, Alicia (Chris) Long & son, Eric (Britt) Rice; and his grandson, Travis Long all of Calgary; along with many friends and neighbours.
He is predeceased by his father, Leonard Rice; mother, Alice Rice; and sister, Valerie Vanderleest.
If friends so desire, donations may be made in Bill's name to STARS and/or the Calgary Humane Society.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held at the Inglewood Community Centre (1740 – 24 Ave SE, Calgary) on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am.
