Leonard M Gentilcore

Leonard M. Gentilcore, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospice in Bethlehem, PA. Born January 18, 1931, in Bethlehem, Leonard was the son of the late Libero and Maria (Schiavone) Gentilcore.
A graduate of Bethlehem Vo Tech, Leonard worked as a structural draftsman at Bethlehem Steel until retiring in 1986. He continued his career at Reimer and Fischer Engineering and later at Lehigh Valley Technical Associates, retiring again in 2013.
A man of many talents, Leonard was incredibly handy around the house, always able to fix or build whatever was needed. His skills were matched only by his dedication to his faith as a long-time member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church. Leonard's life was one of quiet strength, unwavering love, and a steadfast work ethic. He was a pillar of stability for his family, a reliable colleague to his peers, and a faithful servant to his church. His gentle presence and the wisdom he imparted will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Ellen (Pavlinsky) Gentilcore; children Donna Marie Benner and spouse Cornelius of Salisbury Township, Joanne Bohonyi of Mechanicsburg, and Michael Gentilcore and spouse Christine of Macungie; grandchildren Cornelius Benner III, William Bohonyi, Christopher Bohonyi, Tori Gentilcore, and Allison Gentilcore; and great-grandchildren Preston Bohonyi and (CJ) Cornelius Benner IV. He was predeceased by siblings Mary Strawn, Concetta Saling, and Vincent Gentilcore.
Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Ursula's Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill, PA 18015, where family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00-11:00AM until the start of the service. Services will conclude at Holy Saviour Cemetery, 2575 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017. Leonard's services have been entrusted to Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
