Leonard S. "Lenny" Wrobel, born on February 3, 1935, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 90.
Lenny graduated from Barberton High School in 1952 and was later drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from 1958 to 1960.
At the young age of 16, Lenny began working at his brother's hardware store in Barberton, OH known as the West End Hardware. He was known for his willingness to help anyone with their home improvement needs. His hard work and friendly nature made him a fixture of the store and a friend to many in the community. After many years of service, Lenny retired from the hardware store in 1986 and moved to Arizona. In 2016, he returned to the area to be closer to his family.
In his younger years, Lenny enjoyed bowling and golfing, and his love of sports carried throughout his life. He was an avid fan and loved watching anything sports-related. It wasn't uncommon to find him and his brother, Bernie, watching multiple games at once, often sharing the highs and lows that come with being lifelong Cleveland sports fans.
Lenny married Patricia (Pat), in 1979, and they shared 33 wonderful years together until her passing in January 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Wright; stepchildren, Scott Eckel and Connie (Tim) Adair; brothers, Richard (Norma) Wrobel, Bernard (Marie) Wrobel Sr, Joseph (Rosemary) Wrobel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lenny was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Wrobel, his parents, Stanley and Sabina Wrobel; his brother, Frank Wrobel Sr.; his sisters, Claribel Danko and Helen Modzelewski; his nephew, Frank Wrobel Jr. and great nephew, Cooper Wrobel.
He will be remembered fondly for his kind heart, steady presence, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. Lenny's life was one of service, family, and love-a life well lived and deeply cherished. He will be missed greatly by his family and all who were fortunate to know him.
The family will receive friends 12:30 – 1:30pm Wednesday, Nov 12 at the Hilliard-Rospert Funeral Home 174 N. Lyman St., Wadsworth.
Interment with Military Honors will follow 2:15 pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
