Les Barton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Milford on Feb. 23, 2024.
Leslie Smith Barton passed away peacefully to once again be with his wife "Patsy" on February 23, 2024 at Milford Memorial Hospital. Leslie was born on January 14, 1941 to Kenneth Evans Barton and Maxine Smith Barton.
Leslie grew up in Milford, Utah with two sisters, Marie & Phyllis, graduating from Milford High School with the Class of 1959. He attended College of Southern Utah. After college he moved to California and found work at the Purex Corporation.
After returning home, Les married the love of his life, Patsy Lorraine Stewart on May 6, 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had 5 children, Christine, Chad, Ray, Tina & Allan. Leslie hired out with UPRR working for over 39 years in a variety of positions such as a Clerk, Section, Round House Mechanic and then as an Engineer where he finished out his career in Las Vegas, Nevada. Les & Pat loved to travel, especially to visit their Mississippi family. They enjoyed roaming around together, yard sales and playing the slots and bingo. Leslie loved camping and hunting with his family and was definitely the life of the party. He could rattle off jokes all day long. He loved people and was a friend to everyone.
He is survived by his children: Chad (Michelle) Barton, Tina Marie Barton, 10 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren. Sister: Phyllis (Richard) Mayer, Sisters-in-Law: Vicky (Ron) Turner, Madeline (George) Griffiths, Betty Jo Hoagland, Cecilia (Wayne) Loundsbury, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his Parents, Wife: Patsy, Children: Christine, Ray L, Allan, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, Sister: Marie Barton Cole.
We would like to thank the staff at Milford Memorial Hospital for the excellent care they provided, treating our dad as one of their own. He loved van rides and playing cards with the residents and volunteers.
A graveside service will be held on Friday March 1, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Minersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 – 11:30 am at Southern Utah Mortuary in Milford, UT. Final arrangements are under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences may be left at www.mortuary.org.
