Lester Allen Humphrey

Lester Allen Humphrey June 12, 1943 - September 26, 2025

Les Humphrey, age 82, passed away peacefully at home on September 26th. Born June 12, 1943 in Corvallis, Oregon to Norman and Mary Humphrey, he was the second of seven children. Les grew up south of Corvallis, graduated from Monroe High School in 1961, and was salutatorian of his class. In 1964, he joined the army. He was a member of the 12th Special Forces Army Reserve, a stateside Green Beret unit based in Corvallis. He served six years as a reservist. In 1967, he married Lori Foster. This past year, they celebrated 58 wonderful years. In 1970, Les earned a BS from Oregon State. He entered Law School at University of Oregon and graduated in 1973.

Les owned several different businesses but settled into wholesale ceramics and ceramic molds. After 37 years of enlarging his company, he retired in 2017. He wanted to stay busy, so in 2019, he bought acreage and planted hazelnuts. In 2024, because of health problems, he sold his beloved farm.

Les is survived by his wife, Lori. They had no children. Each of his siblings have passed, but he has numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and their children. He enjoyed golf, college sports, operating heavy machinery, flying his airplane, and projects.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be sent to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
