Lieselotte "Lisa" Tauchert passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 93. A resident of River Edge for over 50 years, she was born on March 15, 1932, in Bremen, Germany to Cord and Adeline (Feldman) Friedrichs.
As a young woman, she lived in the Lucerne region of Switzerland, where she worked in a bakery and shared a home with friends before moving to the United States. She was hosted by her (aunt) Tante Johanna and Uncle Louie in Maywood, NJ before meeting her husband, Hans Tauchert.
Hans and Lisa were married 32 years before his passing in 2000. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending German festivals at the Schuetzen Park or Oktoberfests at Hunter Mountain, vacationing in the Catskills, LBI, and Florida, or just celebrating the holidays.
A long-time parishioner of Zion Lutheran Church in Maywood, NJ, Lisa was a regular member of the church's quilting club where she made blankets that would be in the cribs of her granddaughters. Lisa also worked as the bookkeeper for Hans's construction company and, when his health declined due to Parkinson's disease, she became his devoted caregiver. Her strength, compassion, and quiet determination guided her as she balanced caring for her husband and returning to the workforce to support her family.
Family was always at the heart of Lisa's life. She took immense pride in raising her two sons and later doted on her granddaughters, their beloved Oma picking them up from school, sharing snacks and games, and filling their days with warmth and love.
Lisa is survived by her son, Rainer Tauchert and wife Siobhan, granddaughters Tess and Tatum Tauchert, and son Thomas Tauchert. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Hans Tauchert; her brothers, Karl-Heinz and Helmut Friedrichs; and her sister, Herta Friedrichs.
Lisa will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and devotion to family. Her gentle spirit and enduring love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
