Meg Hawkins, age 63, of Nashville, formerly of Shelbyville, passed away March 2, 2023.
Funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday, March 11, 2024., at King Solomon Missionary Church in Nashville. Burial will follow in Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to service Saturday at the church.
Lina Omega "Meg" Hawkins, was born January 21, 1959, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to the late Willa Bell Whitaker and James Hawkins.
She is preceded in death by her brother, James William Hawkins and Sister Veronica Ann Hawkins.
Meg, as she was affectionately called, was a quiet woman. She had a lot of special people in her life who she cared about deeply. Everyone that knew Meg, knew that she was a very private woman. She did not invade your privacy, and it was best you did not invade her (LOL).
She graduated from Hume Fogg High School, the Class of 1976. After high school, she went to Fall Business College from 1977-1978. She stared her employment journey with Com Data where she worked for 20 something years as a Deposit Clerk. She held membership at King Solomon Missionary Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing, a sister Rebecca Hicks, Nashville, Tennessee; a host of cousins, but she had a couple of cousins that were life sisters, Tonya Jones and Tameka Mayo, of Nasville, Tennessee, and Velencia Haile, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and a cousin just like a brother, Richard Jones, III.
Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
