Shirley Hawkins Obituary

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Gerald Hawkins; parents, Robert and Nollie Lou Dale; and her sisters and brothers, Kathlene Phillips, Bonnie Keeler, J.R. Dale, Harold Dale, Louise Massengill, Monroe Dale, and David Dale.
Shirley was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Ernie Burgess, and Mary and Jeff Young; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Herman Baker; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lucinda Dale; grandchildren, Rachael Burgess, Kristal Lofty, Alex (Kelsey) Hawkins, and Megan Vick; great-grandchildren, Jett Haynes, Maddox Lofty, Kinley Lofty, Elijah Massingill, Joseph Massingill, Isaiah Stephens, Raelynn Burgess, and Cooper Frazier; great-great granddaughter, Emmersen Massingill; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at the Pleasant Grove chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev Darey Kittle officiating.
Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens.
