Mrs. Linda Green Capps, 77, a resident of Columbia, passed away on March 30, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.
Born November 12, 1947, in Pulaski, Linda was a devoted wife and beloved mother and grandmother known for her giving spirit, sweet nature and kindness to all.
Linda is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Harold Capps, children, Amy Capps Graves, Rebecca (Joel) Ricketts, Matt (Laci) Capps, and grandchildren, Lucas, Landon, and Ellie Ricketts, Arden Owens-Welch, and Asa Capps. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walden and LaRue Green.
After graduating from Columbia Central High School in 1966, she met and married her true love in 1969. She devoted the next twenty-one years of her life to her family, raising her children in a home filled with laughter and love. In 1990, she found a new passion when she became an aide on the Maury County School District bus for children with disabilities. She loved her job and enjoyed every minute that she spent with “her kids.” Her devotion to her job spanned twenty-five years and was a testament to her love for anyone she met. Linda will be cherished by all who knew her.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Tennessee Oncology and Hospice Compassus for the tender care of their loved one during her hard season.
Linda’s life will be celebrated with her family at a memorial service on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:30 PM with a service to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
