Linda Kay (Sutherland) Chamberlain
Linda passed away peacefully on 8.22.25 in Hanover, Indiana surrounded by her daughter and one day shy of, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Linda was born in Richland County on 2.28.50 to Wilson and Norma Sutherland and spent the majority of her life in rural Viola, Wisconsin.
After 6 weeks of courtship, she married the love of her life, Keith "Duane" Chamberlain in Rockford, Illinois on 5.11.69. 11 months later they welcomed a daughter and 5 years after that a son. Together they would build a beautiful home and life just over the hill from the family farm she grew up on.
For more than 2 decades, Linda poured her compassionate spirit into her work at Pine Valley Nursing Home, where her kindness touched countless lives.
Linda found joy in planting and tending to her vibrant flowers that brightened every season and chats with her sister Mary and late friend Anita Felton. She treasured each moment spent with her grandchildren, nurturing them with the same love and care she gave to her children. She adored her cat, who was a long-time companion.
The last 2 years of her life were spent battling the ugliness of breast cancer and dementia. Linda did not want to move to Indiana but needed to be closer to her daughter for care and supervision. She loved to sit on Tony and Lisa's patio and watch the barges go by, taking boat rides on the Ohio River with them, meals out with them and Sherry Lyons (Tony's mom and someone whose company she loved), and the musical entertainment provided at the places she resided. She also enjoyed the visits her grandchildren made, coming to see her after she moved.
Linda is survived by daughter, Lisa and son-in-law Tony Hulman; son, Travis Chamberlain( significant other Sarah Slaney and children); beloved grandchildren: Ciara Kolman (fiancé Hailee Athey), Colton Kolman (fiancé Mattie Fettkether); Chaelyn Kolman ( significant other Dylan Temm) Dalton Chamberlain ( significant other Renee Margalski), and Sheyenne Chamberlain; her last living sibling, Mary Alderman; brothers and sisters in-law, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, several siblings, and her parents.
Her kindness, compassion, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on September 6, 2025, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM. A luncheon will immediately follow. All services will be held at Pratt Memorial Chapel in Richland Center, Wisconsin. prattfuneralservice.com
