Linda K. Fankhauser, 77, of Ravenna, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Linda was a lifelong resident of Portage County. She was born in Ravenna on July 27, 1947, to the late Kenneth and Mary (Nader) Liston. Linda was a lifelong public servant. She worked as a nurse at Robinson Memorial Hospital for 20 years. In 1992 she was elected Portage County Recorder and served in the position for 12 years. She was then elected Portage County Clerk of Courts and served from 2005 until 2015. She was also a very active member of the community. She was the Treasurer of the Ravenna Ravens Hall of Fame Committee and a member of the Portage County Federated Democratic Women. She was a past member of the Ravenna Athletic Booster Club and a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, knitting, playing cards and dominoes, making blankets, watching old TV shows and having sleepovers with the grandchildren.
Linda met the love of her life, Bob Fankhauser, when they both attended Ravenna High School. They married in 1967 and were together until his passing in 2011. The family finds great comfort in knowing that they are together again.
Survivors include their children Marla Boltz, Mark (Jill) Fankhauser, Beth (Jason) Russell, their grandchildren Michael (Ellie) Boltz, Molly Fankhauser, Jake Fankhauser, Noah Fankhauser, her siblings, Chuck (Tricia) Liston, Mary Tsai, Kathy (Mike) Serafin and sisters-in-law, JoAnn McEwen and Kay Fankhauser. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Liston, brothers-in-law, Bill Fankhauser and Clifton Fankhauser, and sister-in-law, Anita Fankhauser. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 27 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Homes Ravenna Chapel. Private family burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.sscfuneralhomes.com.

A public servant to the end, working diligently to contribute in her way towards a cause she held dear until her last breath. May we all use this example as a basis in life as we never know when we will take our last breath. My condolences and hope for peace to all the lives touched by Linda Fankhauser both directly and indirectly; may we all find peace in her passing, to use this to better ourselves in this life, and to stay protected under the wings of God.
