Linda Lee Klippert, of Wauconda, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at the age of 75, in hospice care.
Linda was born on September 1, 1949 in Chicago. She graduated from Northern Illinois University and became a devoted teacher. She taught over 30 years in the public schools and retired from Wheeling School District 21 in 2008.
She is survived by her husband, Larry and her beloved daughter, Laura Leonhard Lowderman (Mark) and cherished granddaughter, Claire and grandson, Jaxson. She is also survived by her step children Linda (Jeff) Kleist, Shelley Klippert, Kim (Mike) Hahn, and Larry Klippert, Jr. and several step grandchildren Daniel, Cody, Ryan, Madison, Skye, Spencer, and Logan. Also step great grandchildren Cayson and Ryder.
She had loving siblings, Judy (Augie) Kutchinski, Sue (James) Hanser, James (Sue) Stenstrom and Karl (Dawn) Stenstrom. She also had several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly: Todd, Marc, Ben, Erik, Mallory, Kelsey, Matthew, Michelle, and Renee. In addition to her parents, Richard and Violet Stenstrom, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband Gregg Leonhard.
Linda was a bright, loving, energetic mother, wife, daughter, sister, grandmother, teacher, and friend. Teaching was her passion, and she enjoyed helping all of her students. She’d spend countless hours in her classroom creating magical lessons and enjoyed working with her colleagues. She was a fan of country music, line dancing, attending county fairs, and had a love of animals and nature. She enjoyed trips to Wisconsin with her family. She also was a founding member of Hope Lutheran Church in Long Grove.
Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, October 27 beginning at 10am until the time of the memorial service at 12pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, 60047.
