Linda Adele (nee Weardon) Limbert, 78, of Willoughby, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023.
Born June 15, 1945, in Cleveland, Linda grew up in the suburbs.
She graduated Charles F. Brush High School in 1963 with the goal of being a teacher. She earned her Associate Degree from Cuyahoga Community College in 1965, a Bachelor of Arts in 1967 from Ohio University, and Master's Degree from Ashland University. She met her husband Dale at Ohio University. Linda taught special education and kindergarten within the Catholic School System including Saint Paschal, Saint Benedict, Saint Francis, and Saint Aloysius and was the primary caregiver for her husband, Dale, in his later years. After retiring from teaching, she moved to Ohio Living Breckenridge Village. She made new friends there, and filled her house with crafts and pictures of family. She was a member of the Mayfield United Methodist Church and then Church of the Western Reserve where she enjoyed Bible Study.
Linda lived life through her children. You could not know Linda without knowing all about her two sons, Matt and Tim. She was extremely proud of them. They both attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and served in the Marine Corps (Matt) and Navy (Tim). She and her husband, Dale enjoyed a close group of friends from watching their sons run cross-country and track. Together, they were active members of the Northeast Ohio Naval Academy Parents Association for several years and helped other parents understand the school and military service. Along with her sons, Linda loved teaching and was recognized early in her career in special education. She was a patient teacher and known as a generous friend.
Linda is survived by her son, Matt (Wendy, nee Franko) Limbert of Encinitas, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Holly (nee Braden) Limbert; and grandchildren, Carter and Whitney of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dale Limbert; son, Tim; parents, Elton and Elizabeth (nee Heritzako) Weardon; and brother, Perry.
A Celebration of Life and service for Linda will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at the Nason Center in the Marjorie Noble Lyons Chapel at Breckenridge Village.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ohio Living at www.ohioliving.org/foundation/donate, Church of the Western Reserve at www.cwr.church/donate, or the charity of your choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.

I am so very sorry to hear of Linda's passing. She and I taught together at St. Aloysius School for 16 years until she retired. We enjoyed many lunches and dinners together after she retired. She was a dear woman and a close friend. I couldn't understand why she stopped contacting me after she had to be in a wheelchair because she couldn't walk. I didnt know about Tim's passing as she had stopped reaching out to me about 3 years ago. I pray she and Dale and Tim are reunited in God's kingdom. May they all rest in peace.
Love,
Patricia Regan
