It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Linda McManus Moses, 78, on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Linda was born September 30, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, daughter of James Edward and Catherine McManus. She passed away at her home in Irving, surrounded by her family.
Left to cherish Linda's memory are her loving husband of 56 years, G.C. "Butch" Moses; her children, Lisa Moses (husband, Matthew) Montgomery, Greg Moses (wife, Caroline) and Valerie Moses (husband, Josef) Reimer; grandchildren, Levi Montgomery, Georgia Montgomery, Maggie Moses, Sam Moses, Paul Reimer, James Reimer, Mark Reimer, and Ben Reimer. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, James and Catherine McManus.
Linda attended St. Monica Catholic School and Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas. She attended college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, where she met her husband, Butch Moses. Linda married Butch at Saint Monica Catholic Church on June 15,1968. While raising their three children they settled in Irving, Texas and were long-standing parishioners of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.
Linda earned her master's degree in Adult Christian Community Development and was also a Certified Bereavement Counselor. She spent a lifetime helping others and working to make disciples across the country. She served faithfully in countless roles with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for many years. Linda was the Director of Faith Formation and Family Ministry at Holy Family for over thirty years. She also served as the director of RCIA at Christ the King Church for five years before retiring in 2020. Her involvement and leadership in multiple ministries during those years was monumental in the faith formation of youth, young adults, couples and families. Her ministry covered all aspects of life, as she often said, from womb to tomb.
In addition to her work for the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, Linda was a member of the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers (NACFLM) for fifteen years. She and Butch were the first couple to be elected to serve as president of NACFLM. Inspired by her Catholic faith, Linda cherished every opportunity to serve others. She gave herself completely to her family, her friends and her ministries. And, of all the ministries she had in life, her most cherished role was that of "Nana" to her eight beautiful grandchildren.
Please join the family at 5:30pm on Friday, April 25th for a rosary beginning at 6:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home, located at 606 W. Airport Fwy, Irving, Texas 75062.
