Linda Hollingsworth Petersheim passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family. She was 36 years married to her devoted husband, Benjamin Petersheim, and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and compassion.
Born and raised in San Jose, California, Linda later made Virginia her home, where she built a respected career in banking and finance. Her colleagues and customers admired her professionalism and kindness, and she retired having truly lived her best life.
Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Albert Julius Hollingsworth and Mary Ann Loiacano. She is survived by her children, Mark Sirois of Jacksonville and Albert Sirois (Lori) of Chesapeake, along with many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her siblings include Marie Silverman of Kalispell, MT, and James Albert Hollingsworth of Orland, CA. She was predeceased by siblings Billy Joe Hollingsworth, Rita Elizabeth Hollingsworth, and Mona Christine Hollingsworth.
A hardworking and dedicated professional, Linda spent more than 40 years in banking and finance, earning the respect and friendship of many. She will be remembered for her generous heart, quick wit, and her ability to bring warmth and laughter to any room. Her smile was contagious, her love was fierce, and her kindness was boundless.
Linda's spirit was magnetic-she was good-hearted, quick-witted, and loved deeply. Her infectious smile could brighten any room, and her playful banter with Ben was a joy to witness. Linda and Ben's family expanded to include her beloved dogs-English springer spaniels and dachshunds-who she adored as her "fur babies."
She found joy in fishing, bowling, cooking, and watching romance movies with Ben. Her generosity extended to her community, where she was a regular donor and volunteer at local blood drives. Linda disliked hunting and had a strong aversion to riding in Corvettes, a quirk that made her all the more endearing.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held on December 6th at 11:00 AM, at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, Virginia,.followed by entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 3920 Airline Blvd, Chesapeake, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Linda's name to the Chesapeake Humane Society, honoring her lifelong love for animals.https://chesapeakehumane.org/donate/
Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her laughter, love, and light will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
