Linda Marie (Leach) Schillig, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024 at the Compassionate Care Center, following a brief illness. She was born on May 26, 1947 to William and Sara (Blake) Leach. Linda spent her childhood in Hartville but called Louisville, Ohio home where she spent her entire adult life. After graduating from Lake High School, her first job was in the office at Union Metal. On June 3, 1967 she married Lawrence (Larry) Schillig at Sacred Heart of Mary church, where she remained a member all these years.
Linda was predeceased by both her parents, her brother, and her husband Larry in 1998. She always said that her greatest accomplishment was her family. They had five children: Linda Davis, Laura (Ken) Evans, Lisa (Skip) Smaldone, Lawrence (Maria) Schillig, and Lynette (Tina) Gillam; eleven grandchildren: Tristan Davis, Ryan Davis, Lyn Haney, Cole Evans, Lauren Tarbert, Morgan Tarbert, Nicholas Tarbert, Autumn Schillig, Landyn Schillig, Cassandra Gillam, and Mitchell Gillam; and one great-grandson Gavin Ryan. She created a home filled with love, acceptance, kindness, and warmth. Over the years, so many additions had been welcomed and then became part of every gathering.
Linda was a devoted Catholic woman, who for many years, served as Altar and Rosary President and also active in Sunday bingo luncheons and donated many of the pies that were served. She had multiple hobbies over the years which included bowling, ceramics, playing cards, crocheting, cooking, baking, and playing bingo at the American Legion in Louisville. Lindas apple pies were so delicious that she often got requests for them.
