Linda Kay Emmert Belcher Skodak, 76, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. She was born on September 15, 1948, in Oklahoma City to Rev. Dr. H.C. and June Emmert.

Linda was welcomed by her older sister, Margaret, and later became a loving big sister to Clay and Judy. It was Clay who gave her the cherished nickname "Deeda," a name that would later become her special title as a grandmother. As a child of a minister, Linda spent much of her life serving others in the church community. They were all preacher's kids and moved frequently spending most of their lives in a church building. Her fondest memory was living next to the church and she would go to listen at the door of her father's study to hear him pray.

In 1967, before graduating from Southeast High School, she married Tommy Belcher, and together they raised three children, T.J., Torrey, and Melinda. Her church life was vibrant, as she enthusiastically volunteered for Vacation Bible School, Women's Ministries, and the choir. Throughout her adult life, she worked in various secretarial positions and was a familiar presence on the sidelines of her children's soccer games. Linda was a gifted cook and baker, known by many for her delicious treats. In her later years, Linda dedicated herself to caring for her parents.

Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to Dillon, who lovingly called her "Deeda." He was truly her pride and joy.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Dr. H.C. Emmert and June Emmert; her sister, Margaret Clark; and her sister-in-law, Linda Emmert.

She is survived by her children, T.J. Belcher, Torrey Belcher, and Melinda Belcher; her grandson, Dillon Belcher; her brother, Clay (Leslye) Emmert; and her sister, Judy (Larry) Mansfield. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.

Linda's family extends their deepest gratitude to all who provided her with care through the years, especially to Judy and Larry.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 1:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment following in Bethany Cemetery.
