Linda Jean Starbuck

One night I had a dream. . .

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints.

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way; but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

 

It is with great sadness that the family of Linda Jean Starbuck announces her sudden passing, at the age of 67 years, on Friday, August 4, 2023. Although she will be greatly missed, it is nice to know she is now with her son, Clayton.

Linda had an incredible talent for playing her guitar and singing. We used to spend countless hours singing songs while she played. This is something she started when she was very young and took great pleasure in it. Her blonde hair and beautiful smile would steal the show. She wasn't able to play her guitar the last several years of her life due to arthritis in her hands, but she really enjoyed singing in her church choir.

Linda was a very caring and loving individual. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She had a love for all animals; especially the squirrels, hummingbirds and deer that she would feed daily. Linda enjoyed family vacations and truly delighted in her encounters with dolphins and a cute sea lion while on vacation. She enjoyed watching murder documentaries and paranormal shows. She would get so excited for the weekends so she could binge watch her documentaries and shows with her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Fern Starbuck, her beloved son, Clayton Wesley Schneider and her brother-in-law, Jim Mullaney. Linda will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amber MacArt (Brian), Mattie Schneider (Brandon), and her son, Clifton Schneider. Linda will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren Dylan, Jayce, Kade, Ella and Aria, by her father, Alvin Starbuck and her sister, Cissie Mullaney, brother Dee Starbuck (Tari) and by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and loving friends.

Linda will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family and those around her. She was kind and passionate and made an impact on many lives.

Linda's memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at McDougal Funeral Home located at 4330 S Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT 84123. There will be a viewing from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 6:00 pm. Memorial donations in memory of Linda Starbuck can be made to Amber MacArt.
