Linda Stringer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wimberly Funeral Home on Feb. 2, 2024.
On Wednesday, January 31, Mother Linda Ruth Stringer answered the call of the Lord and returned to her Heavenly Home. Linda was born on March 29, 1949, in Shelby, NC to the late Frank and Nellie Stringer. She was raised in Flowery Branch, Georgia. She attended E.E. Butler High School and graduated in 1967. She then went on to attend Fort Valley State University before returning home to help take care of her family. Linda worked at Chicopee until it closed in 1991 and then went on to work at Peerless Winsmith until she retired. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. She was affectionately known as "Ms Lord Have Mercy" This was her favorite expression that showed her admiration for her Lord and Savior.
Linda truly loved the Lord, her church, and her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, niece, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. She enjoyed shopping, sharing stories, and watching Westerns which she lovingly called "shoot 'em ups." Linda always had an open ear and was willing to offer guidance, support, and encouragement no matter what challenges were being faced. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, word searches, and spending time with her beloved friends, The 49ers. Linda was always eager to share her knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Linda was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church serving as a Mother, an Usher, in the Kitchen Ministry, on the Women's Ministry, the Scholarship Committee, and President of the Missionary Ministry.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Nellie Stringer, sister Frankie Osborne, and brother Randy Stringer. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Yolande (Glen) Jones, Gainesville, GA; Lisa (Stephan) Bailey, Flowery Branch, GA and one son, Scott (Sheika) Stringer, Gainesville, GA. Her brother-in-law Mr. James Osborne. 8 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and a plethora of other relatives loved ones and friends along with her Mt. Zion Baptist Church Family.
