Linda Joan Thomas, 71, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in her hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. Born on September 12, 1953, to John and Mary (Langley) Allgood, Linda's life was filled with the power of gentle strength and unwavering care for those she held dear.

Linda's legacy is carried on by her adoring family, including her daughter, Marlena (Charles) Porter, and her son, Marty Thomas. She was the cherished grandmother to Brandon Porter and Haley Fields, and the proud great-grandmother to Blakely Porter, Brett Porter, and Tanner Fields. Her brother, Keith Hacker, and her sister, Ellen Hawkins along with many devoted nieces and nephews, also survive her. Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Marvin Thomas, her parents, John and Mary Allgood, and her brothers, Danny Allgood, John Allgood, and Terry Hacker.

Throughout her life, Linda was a loving and kind soul. Her thoughtful nature was evident in the way she nurtured her family and friends. She was a great mother, not only to her own children but to all who needed her care and guidance. Linda's love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds, and she reveled in every moment spent with them. Linda's interests were simple. She found joy in the pages of a good book, the laughter of her grandkids, and the tranquility of long car rides through the countryside. Her ability to find happiness in the everyday moments was a lesson she imparted to all who knew her.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Linda will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart left an indelible mark on the world. Linda's memory will be treasured and kept alive through the stories shared by her family and the countless lives she touched.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville with burial to follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
